Are you wondering what GivingTuesday is all about? The Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States has become known around the world as #GivingTuesday. According to their website, started in 2012, GivingTuesday is based on a simple idea: it is a day that inspires people to do good. If Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, encourages people to spend, because companies offer steep discounts to ensure they end the year in the “black” or make a profit, then why not have a day to encourage people to collectively be generous and unlock the power of generosity to make the world a better place?
We know the very best international schools around the world have a strong culture of giving, and we want that for our school. At ACS, we believe in the power of charitable giving to unlock the full potential of our school. As the only nonprofit American school in Abu Dhabi, we rely on the generous support of charitable contributions to deliver the very best education for our students.
