2022-23 Board of Trustees Announced
The ACS Board of Trustees is composed of eight elected trustees, three selected trustees and up to three honorary trustees. We congratulate Matt Ayoub, Nadia Bardawil, Philippe El Bacha and Julie Thurston for their election as Trustees for the 2022-2024 school years.
Omar Asfour, Serena Carnevale, Eric Hilgendorf and Adib Mattar will continue to serve the second year of their terms as elected trustees and Robin Solomon will continue to serve as our U.S. Embassy representative.
This year, the eight incoming elected trustees reviewed nine nominations for the selected and honorary trustee positions. These nominations included individuals currently serving on Board Committees, individuals that ran during recent Board elections and other valued members of our community. We are happy to announce the following selected trustees for next year:
- Ahmed Al Ahmadi, Senior Investment Manager, Sovereign & Investor Relations (CEO Office) ADQ: Ahmed is an Emirati alumnus of our class of 2011. As a critical and growing entity in Abu Dhabi, we are delighted to have a senior ADQ leader serving on our Board for the first time.
- Brad Heming, Senior Portfolio Manager within the ADIA Real Estate & Infrastructure Department: Brad has prior school board and campus development experience. We look forward to leveraging Brad’s skills and knowledge as we catalyze development around the new campus.
- Kirby Lindsey, Vice President of Operations at Oxy: Kirby served on the ACS Board of Trustees during the past two years and has been an integral member of our Finance and Building Committees during the past two years. We are delighted that he has agreed to continue serving as a trustee for the 2022-23 school year.
We are also pleased to announce the following honorary trustees for next year:
- Rima Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi is the Executive Director of Strategic Affairs of the EAA, a government agency mandated to provide strategic policy advice to the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Rima is also a member of the Board of Trustees of New York University and Chair of Tamkeen, a company that delivers projects enriching Abu Dhabi’s social, cultural and educational landscape. Rima is being re-appointed for the 2022-23 school year.
- Salem Al Noaimi, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Pension fund, Chairman of Wio UAE: Recently serving his sixth term as an ACS trustee, Salem continues to be instrumental in deepening our relationship with the government of Abu Dhabi and advancing our new campus initiative. His wise counsel on a range of strategic matters led to his appointment as an honorary trustee for the 2022-23 school year.
