As outlined in Board policy, the Board is vested with the authority and responsibility for the formulation and adoption of policies which govern the administration of the school. The functions of the Board include the following:

  • Develop and adopt policies to guide the school operation.
  • Appoint and evaluate the Superintendent.
  • Develop and approve the annual budget.
  • Serve as an appraisal body for the overall effectiveness of the school program.
  • Approve annual school calendar
  • Identify Board committees to oversee the general operation of the school. Committees include: policy, finance, curriculum, and building.
  • Work in partnership with the school administration in presenting to the Association the needs of the school.
  • Serve as an adjudicating body in the event of policy or operations conflict.
  • Establish policies regarding personnel practices, salary scales and terms of employment.
