According to ACS Board policy, there are six categories of applicants. One of the duties of the Superintendent is to monitor enrollment to prioritize available space for new Category 1 and Category 2 applicants. As required by the ACS Constitution and By-Laws, the Board has established the following priorities for admission to The American Community School: 1. American Students: A. American children of employees of the American Embassy/AD B. American children of employees of ACS Corporate Sponsors C. All other American students & children of American parents 2. Non-American children of employees of ACS Corporate Sponsors 3. Siblings of students currently enrolled in ACS/AD 4. Students transferring directly from American schools abroad or in the United States 5. Former ACS students 6. All other students meeting admission requirements If the number of students seeking admission within a priority category exceeds the number of available seats, the students will be considered in the order that their completed written applications were received and application fee paid. Once a child is enrolled, he/she will be treated on a basis equal to all other children regardless of nationality, and will continue to be enrolled as long as he/she meets the school’s academic, behavioral, and financial requirements.
