PTA Funding Projects 2008-2009
I. 10 NXT Robotics Kits and Related Equipment: AED14,387
These kits will start replacing our old RCX Lego kits. They are to
be used in Technology classes and robotics club. They will help
prepare our students with the building of 21ST century skill. They
will also be used in Robot competitions that occur annually against
other schools.
II. 2 High End Video Cameras: AED 9,998.00
Recording and archiving of school events is a community service.
DVD’s can be made of the events. Students can be trained to use
the machines thus helping them achieve 21st century skills. The
school now has low quality cameras that are good for classroom
use but not quality production work.
III. Fitness Equipment for the Fitness Room: AED 33,000
1.) Life Fitness Treadmill T70
2.) Parabody Smith Machine
This equipment will allow ACS to more safely and effectively train
the growing number of students/faculty/parents who us the fitness
room. We need this equipment to supplement the machines that
are currently in the fitness room.
IV. 10 LabPro Interface Units: 25,938
Transform dreams into reality by providing all science students
various resources and opportunities to pursue their ambitions in a
meaningful way through the use of labs and data collection using
this current technology.
V. 2 High End Audio Recorders & 2 Microphones: AED 1086
The audio recorders will be used to record school events. They can
also be used in classroom setting to create portfolios, student
rehearsals, foreign language recording, etc. CD’s can be made and
distributed. Currently we are borrowing from parents.
