Welcome to another year of school at ACS!
The PTA is made up of all people with a link to ACS…all parents and teachers in the community ARE the PTA. The PTA sponsors events throughout the year to help raise funds for items that would not otherwise be available through the existing school budget. Any community member is then able to request money from those funds to go toward the purchase of various items that go beyond the traditional school budget. In the past, as a community, we have purchased the climbing wall, outfitted our science team with robotics and provided new seating for the auditorium to just name a few. We have quarterly meetings but the truth is that our work starts even before the first day of school.
If you are new to the community, please do not hesitate to ask any of the officers anything at all about life at ACS or in Abu Dhabi. We have people and resources on hand that can help you find things get acquainted with the city and find out where to get all you need for your new home. In addition, the PTA can serve as a link within the school and tries to communicate with the staff and parents as to upcoming information. Check the LINK, the online newsletter that goes out every Thursday, for up to date details on PTA sponsored and community wide events.
The PTA is proud of the way we can support the academic life at ACS as well as enrich the community spirit. We rely on our community to help us and encourage each parent to consider volunteering with at least one of our fundraising/community events. Event committees are forming now, so please join us now and contribute to the community!
